Midnights Retreat

The grass beneath the peach trees,
light green and soft as down.
On summer nights, its cool caress
sooths my fevered brow.
Starlight plays on branch and leaf,
Whispers songs of joy and peace.
I watch the show as others sleep,
A verdant couch, midnights retreat.
